Lecture Topic:
Peri-implantitis: what we know about its etiology, prevention, and treatment
Peri-implantitis is a disease with increasing incidence worldwide, and there is almost no consensus on its etiology, prevention, or treatment.
We will discuss what our group believes regarding these issues, based on our clinical and preclinical research. We will discuss the data we have correlating the differences or similarities concerning periodontitis. Especially concerning microbiological aspects, progression, and prevention options without the use of systemic antibiotics, and the treatment protocol used by our group.

Lecture Topic:
Palatal Approach, Primary Stability, and Zygomatic Implants: Solving Cases of Severe Maxillary Atrophy with Immediate Loading
Edentulous atrophic maxillae are one of the great challenges in modern implantology. In this lecture, we will address three fundamental aspects of Total Rehabilitations that aim to simplify surgical procedures, avoiding the need for bone grafts: the Palatal Approach, Zygomatic Implants, and the High Primary Stability of implants. In addition to significantly reducing treatment time and favoring immediate loading rehabilitation, these techniques increase the predictability and success rates of these rehabilitations.

Lecture Topic:
Digital Dentistry in surgical planning for periodontics and implantology
With the use of technology, associated with the Digital Smile Design (DSD) Concept, the dental surgeon begins a new phase in aesthetic surgical planning in periodontics and in planning the ideal 3D positioning for dental implants. Currently, guided dentistry allows for enormous predictability of results, thanks to the arrival of artificial intelligence in computers and interdisciplinary planning centers. The objectives of this lecture are:
- to demonstrate how the DSDApp facilitates the visualization of interdisciplinary planning by constructing 2D and 3D planning;
- how to correctly request cone beam computed tomographies;
- to teach how to use this new dentistry (digital dentistry), through capturing images, videos, scans, and tomographies;
- how to plan and construct the double guides, currently used for aesthetic clinical crown lengthening in periodontics;
- how to be more predictable in the 3D positioning of dental implants, using precision guides created from interdisciplinary planning;
- to attract and retain more patients through the DSD concept, which is increasingly being used worldwide.

Lecture Topic:
Managing soft tissue manipulation in regenerative procedures: key points for a more predictable approach
Periodontal and/or peri-implant tissue manipulation has been extensively discussed in the global literature. Increasing aesthetic demands, as well as the supposed protection provided to implants by the presence of keratinized tissue, are some of the reasons why tissue manipulation techniques have gained so much strength in recent years. In this meeting, we will discuss the key points to make these approaches more predictable.

Lecture Topic:
Short implants: Solving complex cases simply and predictably
Although the literature has shown lower success rates for short implants (less than 10mm), new implant designs associated with osseoconductive surfaces have made short implants a treatment option for patients who cannot or do not wish to undergo grafting surgeries. Thus, their use has been growing, as has the literature showing better success rates. The objective of this scientific panel, where two clinical cases are presented, is to show that short implants can be part of the implantologist's therapeutic arsenal, avoiding grafting surgeries.
